Cancer develops because of
changes in genes which are responsible for growth and division of cells. Sometime
this sequence of cells working get disturb, and as a result cells start
increasing uncontrollably and start forming a tumor.
Tumor can be of two types i.e. a
benign or cancerous. Benign tumor is normal and does not have negative impacts
on surrounding tissues, and on the other hand cancerous or malignant tumor is
not only damaging but it can invade other tissues making them cancerous as
well.
In most of the cases this tumor
can develop in lobules which are assigned with the work to manufacture milk or
in ducts which drain milk to the nipples of breasts. In few cases this cancer
can also form in fatty or fibrous connective tissues.
At very early stage breast cancer
is not harmful because it remains where it was formed first. If it is found
during breast cancer
screening, it can be treated very successfully but in case of late
detection it starts spreading to other tissues and becomes invasive. Invasive
breast cancer even if treated in time can be life saving but if not then it can
affect other body organs as well.
Knowing the level of damages which
breast cancer can make if diagnosed later, then it is important to work out for
breast cancer screening programs. It facilitates you with early detection and
availability of plenty of less painful treatment options.
