Risk Factors of Breast Cancer

A risk factor can be defined as the thing that increases the chances to develop breast cancer, but if a woman have one or several risk factors it does not mean that a woman will definitely develop it, however the risk increases such as women are at higher level of being attacked by the disease because men have the risk as well but it is lower comparatively and women have the higher risk due to the some risk factors that are natural and can’t be modified by any power of the world such as

Gender
Gender is one of the most important factors to put women at increased risk of developing cancer as the structure of breast is complicated comparatively because women breasts are made up of different types of tissues such as connective, fatty and glandular tissues so the risk to develop the abnormalities is higher.

Age
Age is a natural phenomenon that can’t be controlled by anyone and for women the increased age is the reason to increase the risk of developing cancer so older women are asked to attend breast screening when they don’t have the symptoms so that initial stage cancer can be treated effectively.

Family History
Family history puts women at higher risk of breast cancer such as if close relatives of a woman have had breast cancer or any other cancer the risk for the woman increases and in case of close relatives such as sister, mother or daughter the risk is five times higher and in case of distant relatives the risk is two times higher.
